New books, scary books, books, books, books!

Celebrate the conclusion of the first nine weeks of school by indulging your IMAGINATION! Drop by the library and select a book from the NEW book display on the circulation desk – including Philip Pullman’s new novel, Book of Dust, and John Green’s new novel, Turtles All the Way Down. OR get in the mood for Halloween with a scary book from the display in front of Ms. DeGroat’s office.  Remember to use the Honor Checkout system if Ms. DeGroat is not in the library to check out your book to you.

Learning more about indigenous peoples

As some of you may have read on the news recently, today is recognized in South Dakota, Vermont, and Alaska as Indigenous Peoples’ Day.  Cities like Seattle, Minneapolis, Phoenix, Denver, and Boulder also mark this day.

Consider investing a few minutes to reflect on your summer reading of Silko’s Storyteller or Momaday’s House Made of Dawn – or check out a book from the display in the library.
