Writing prompt

Pots, pans, baking or serving dishes, a special plate – objects that hold food and memory.  Perhaps you’re reminded of an aunt’s gaudy yet endearing dish in which she bakes her signature casserole, or of a muffin tin or cast iron skillet handed down to you, or perhaps of a painted plate used for some special occasion…

Taking your cue from “Pie Plate,” reflect on such objects you’ve encountered at holiday celebrations, backyard BBQ’s, picnics, potlucks, reunions, or other gatherings. Then pick one and see what poem or story emerges from focused reflection on that object (based on memory, imagination, or a combination).
