In conjunction with Black History Month, the MW Library is sponsoring a bee season of events related to the novel and movie The Secret Life of Bees.
Monday, Feb. 9 – during lunch – Beekeeping in Your Backyard – join faculty member Steve Ross in the library for an informal chat about urban beekeeping
Wednesday, Feb. 11, 3:30-5:30 p.m. (Feb. 18 is the backup date in case of inclement weather) – The movie The Secret Life of Bees will be shown in the library after school
Tuesday through Thursday, Feb. 17-19 – during lunch – three-part showing of the movie during the school day for students unable to stay after school on Feb. 11
Friday, Feb. 20 and Tuesday, Feb. 24 – during lunch – book and movie discussions about The Secret Life of Bees. Peanut butter honey cookies and other treats will be served. Sign up by Feb. 18 to join a discussion.
Friday, Feb. 27 – deadline to submit your entry in the Voices of the Civil Rights Movement Poetry Challenge.
Watch for other impromptu events as well – such as a demonstration of a bee dance by Mr. Tharp and representatives from the science department…
